Ingredients:
Rice - 1 1/2 cups
jeera - 1 table spoon
Pepper powder - 1 tea spoon
Dry ginger powder - 1 tea spoon(optional)
Asafoitida - 1 pinch
Sugar - 1 tea spoon
Cinnamon stick - 1 inch(Broken into small bits)
Clover லவங்கம் - 3 nos
1. Wash and soak rice in 3 cups of water for 1/2 hour.
2. Heat ghee in a kadai.
3. Add cinnamon sticks and clover.
4. Once they turn brown add jeera, pepper powder, asafoitida and dry ginger powder.
5. Stir and immediately add the drained rice.
6. Do not throw the drained water.
7. Keep stirring and let the rice turn into pink colour.
8. Add the drained water, salt and sugar.
9. Cook till the rice is done and water dried.(Pressure cooker or open fire anything is fine)
10.Transfer it into a rice bow.
11.Jeera rice ready.
