Orange Pulao

Ingredients:


Basmati Rice          -  2 cups
Oranges                 -  5 nos.
Mint leaves             -  15 - 20 leaves
Green chillies          -  4 nos
Cinnamon stick       -  1 inch
Clover                    -  4 nos
Ghee                      -  2 table spoons
Sugar                     -  1/2 tea spoon
Salt to taste

1.  Wash and soak rice for 1/2 hr.(soak in 3/4 cup of water)
2.  Peel orange and take juice.
3.  Take the juice in a pan add salt to taste and mint leaves and bring to boil.
4.  Remove from stove and remove the mint leaves.(it can be thrown off.  Its only for flavour)
5.  Drain the water from rice and keep the water aside.(do not throw away the water.
6.  Heat ghee in a kadai.
7.  Add the cinnamon stick(broken into small bits) and clover.
8.  Add the green chillies. (chopped into big pieces)
9.  Once the chillies change colour pour and boiled orange juice.
10.Now add water.  (The water quantity and orange juice should add up to 3/4 cup only)
11.Add sugar and cook till done.
12.Orange pulao ready.
13.It tastes good with vegetable kurma.
