Peas Pulao

Ingredients:

Basmati Rice            -  1 cup (200 gms)
Fresh Green Peas     -  150 gms
Green chillies            -  3 - 4 nos
Onions                     -  1 no
Ginger Garlic paste   -  1 table spoon
Ghee                        -  2 table spoons
Cinnamon stick         -  1 inch (broken into small bits)
Jeera                        -  1 tea spoon
Sauf                         -  1 tea spoon
Clovers                    -  2 - 3 nos
Salt to taste

1.  Wash and soak basmati rice in 1 1/2 cups of water for 20 mins.
2.  Finely chop green chillies.
3.  Heat ghee in a kadai and add the cinnamons stick pieces, jeera, clovers and sauf.
4.  Once the spices grow golden brown add the ginger garlic paste.
5.  After the ginger garlic paste is cooked add add finely chopped onions.
6.  Once the onions turn transparent add the shelled peas and stir for 5 - 8 min.
7.  Drain the water from rice and add the rice to the peas and fry for a few mins.(do not through the water used to soak rice)
8.  When the rice is coated fully with the ghee and turned slightly pinkish add the drained water and salt.
9.  Cook till the rice and peas are cooked and remove from stove.
10.Peas pulao ready.  Serve hot with raita, kurma and pickles.
