Corn pulao

Ingredients:


Basmati rice                 -  1 cup
Fresh corn kernels        - 1/2  cup
Onions                         -  1 nos
Ginger garlic paste        -  1 table spoon
Potatoes                       -  2 nos
Green chillies                -  2 nos
Ghee                            -  2 table spoons
Jeera                            -  1 tea spoon
Cinnamon stick            -  1 inch broken into fine pieces
Cloves                         -  3 - 4 nos
Pepper powder            -  1 table spoon
Milk                             -  1/2 cup
Sugar                           -  1/2 tea spoon
Salt to taste


1.  Wash and soak basmati rice in 1 cup of water
2.  If the corn is slightly hard then boil it for 10 mins.  If soft then no problem.
3.  Finely chop onions and green chillies.
4.  Heat ghee in a kadai and add jeera, cinnamon sticks and cloves.
5.  Once they turn brown add the ginger garlic paste.
6.  Stir for 2 mins and add the finely chopped onions and green chillies.
7.  After the onions turn transparent add the corn, pepper powder and cook for 3 - 4 mins.
8.  Now add the soaked rice along with the water.
9.  Add 1/2 cup of milk, salt to taste and sugar and cook till rice and corn is nicely cooked.
10.Corn pulao read.  Its can be served hot with tomato chutney and raita.
